Cumbrian Newspaper Group move to SalesWORKS version 3 and lots more!
IPA Systems Limited has successfully implemented a full SalesWORKS system
upgrade to version 3 at all offices in Carlisle, Barrow and Hexham.
The upgrade project also included the migration from Sybase to MS-SQL
Server 2000 and XP-Pro on the client workstations, the IPA Statistical
database, on-line credit clearing and an expansion of the system by
13 extra seats bringing the total to 94 for the group.
The product enhancements and additional functionality to be found in
SalesWORKS version 3 were extensively studied and their introduction
provides immediate benefits whilst establishing the foundation to answer
the demands of modern publishing company for the foreseeable future.
Immediate benefits will be gained by enhanced "up sell" capabilities
from the multi preview text editor with real-time advert pricing. A
totally redesigned rating engine provides the capability of sales packages
to be easily catered for whilst the new calendar simplifies and speeds
up the booking input. Interactive customer information displays including,
credit limits, advert lists, record cards, client list, credit control
notes, direct emailing of proofs and order confirmations etc., to further
increase the sales team's ability to improve customer interaction and
provide even better customer service.
The introduction of the Statistical Database enables SalesWORKS to gather
extensive current and historical information without impact on the live
system. It is already gathering vital data for the introduction of CanvassWORKS
the IPA customer relationship management and campaign management module,
proposed for implementation later this year.
At a technical level, the upgrade programme also included the introduction
of IPA AdSync and IPA FileSync. These two modules have enabled Cumbrian
Newspapers to provide data security and disaster recovery for the SalesWORKS
system by duplicating database content and file content from primary
to secondary servers across offices.
