The Guardian, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary purchases NEW IPA EditWORKS 7


IPA Systems Limited are pleased to announce that The Guardian newspaper based in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, Ireland have placed an order for EditWORKS 7, the NEW OSX Quark 6-based editorial and production system.

The system comprises of EditWORKS 7 Reporter for accurate text input in raw or template format, EditWORKS 7 Xtension for final story makeup and production page generation, using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 databases.

Other IPA xtensions included in the system are ViewWORKS 7, which allows for the monitoring of publication progress and TransWORKS 7 which will be used for automated internet uploading.

The EditWORKS 7 system will allow for greater collaboration between the editorial and production departments, reduce the duplication of tasks, automate and streamline workflow to increase accuracy and create extra time to devote to creative and innovative newspaper design and commercial print operations. Moving to a central database model for both transient and archive data will replace the distributed storage currently in place providing for quicker retrieval and secure backup and restore procedures to be introduced.
