IPA Systems Ltd take The Sunday Tribune live in 8 weeks

The Sunday Tribune of Dublin, Ireland have invested in a total front-end solution from the IPA Systems "WORKS" product range. Several disparate electronic and manual methods used to publish The Sunday Tribune have been replaced by a suite of products from IPA Systems Ltd. The total system was installed and ready for use within six weeks, the

first live publication hitting the press in week eight, a significant achievement by The Sunday Tribune and IPA given the scale of change undertaken.

The order comprised of the Edit.WORKS editorial system, which includes 43 Reporters seats and 17 Sub Editor seats, 10 Sales.WORKS Advertising seats working alongside wire service and the View.Works modules. View.WORKS offers a dynamic visual update of the status of the editorial and advertising content of the publications. The Sales.WORKS system enables the input of ROP and classified advertising, integrated closely to the 8 Neptune seats used for display advert makeup. This integration enables real time advert tracking so that sales operators are able to determine the status of the advert as operators in the production department use Neptune to compose display adverts. MEI's AdForce and ClassForce pagination and planning software are also included to complete the workflow. Mr. John Scanlon financial controller of The Sunday Tribune said: "The new system improves our workflow and as a result presents greater efficiencies to our operation. The order signed on 10 September 2001 was taken on the understanding that we could take the system live prior to the Christmas period. These factors combined with the quality of the products available made IPA our choice to supply the new system. I am pleased to say that we exceeded all our expectations."Mr. Trevor Kibble, Chief Executive of IPA Systems said "We pride ourselves on the speed with which we can install a quality solution for our customers. This can only be achieved by having the right products and people as well as working closely with the customer, listening to their needs and concerns".

IPA Systems continue to develop their products for today's market. Edit.WORKS a well established MAC based editorial system is currently being ported to the PC platform. Sales.WORKS has all the features expected of today's advertising systems with multi-preview and multi-currency capabilities along side canvassing and contact management modules. Neptune, fully integrated into Sales.WORKS ensures that the advert production status is tracked and all elements associated with the display advert are available to the operator composing the advert. New for 2002 will be Siroco, a fully interactive planning software module that will enable sales operators to view page plans for any publication or issue. The operator can then verify that positions, guaranteed or otherwise are available prior to or during negotiations with the customer. If desired, those positions can then be booked or reserved as part of the advert taking process.
