IPA Systems Ltd installs TruEdit at the Clare Champion, Ennis, Ireland

Following the successful installation of an IPA Sales.Works Ad booking system, including an Adobe InDesign production interface, the Clare Champion is expanding the use of InDesign to their Editorial Department via the installation of TruEdit.

Supplied and installed by IPA, TruEdit is a collaboration software plug-in that creates InCopy files from InDesign layouts to establish a structured workflow and interactive association between Reporters, Sub-Editors and Page Editors. Because InCopy uses the same hyphenation and justification as InDesign, articles can be subbed to fit exactly prior to page make-up.

IPA is also working closely with Magico, an Ennis based software house that manage the Clare Champion web site and who are developing a web-publishing module.

By use of InDesign plug-ins, to be provided by IPA, the module will allow reporters and contributors in local or remote locations to submit copy and pictures, using a browser editor, directly into the TruEdit workflow. Stories will be tracked and categorised by topic. Editors will be able to direct stories to paper or web publications as required. The Magico module will also provide an archive system that will allow the Clare Champion to automatically archive editorial content and photographs. The archive, that will be accessible via the web, may be used both internally and by the general public. The sale of articles and photographs will also be managed via the web site.
