IPA chosen as sole system supplier at People Newspapers

After beating off stiff competition, IPA was recently chosen to supply People Newspapers, part of the Independent Provincial Newspaper Group in the Republic of Ireland, with a suite of software systems from their "WORKS" product range. The £225,000 software and services order comprises editorial, advertising

and production systems configured as a fully integrated 79 seat system located at eight sites in the south-east of Ireland (Wexford, Bray, Carlow, New Ross, Enniscorthy, Gorey, Arklow and Wicklow). Trevor Kibble, IPA Chief Executive commented. "This is a prestigious order by anyone's standards, so we were all the more determined everything would go smoothly - and that's just what happened. Eleven weeks after order signing the system went live, with no phasing in, no dummy paper and no pages lost."

People Newspapers also placed a high value on a trouble free changeover, removing as many potential problems as possible beforehand. "Our preference was for a total software system supplier." Said Ger Walsh, Managing Director at Wexford. "We took the view that integrating different systems from different suppliers could lead to problems. With one software supplier we know who to call should a problem arise."
