AUSTRIAN SUCCESS FOR IPA/ALFA MEDIA SOLUTIONS

OBERÖSTERREICHISCHE NACHRICHTEN (OÖN) IN LINZ PURCHASES OPEN MEDIA SOLUTION FROM IPA/ALFA MEDIA PA PRINTEXPRESS ON SHOW AT THE BRITISH LIBRARY FRONT PAGE EXHIBITION

The Austrian daily newspaper OÖNachrichten, which is published by Wimmer Medien, is distributed in six local editions in the entire Upper Austria. The local editions are Linz, Wels, Steyr/Amstetten/Kirchdorf, Salzkammergut, Innviertel and Mühlviertel. On average, these newspapers are distributed to 345,000 OÖN readers weekly and during weekends; they are distributed to as many as 482,000 readers.

Apart from the daily newspapers the media group also comprises investments in broadcasting stations, electronic media and an extensive range of services.

The decisive reason for the acquisition of the solution from IPA/alfa Media was the level of integration of the system as well as the application programmes’ extensive range of features.

IPA/alfa OpenMedia is the chosen solution. OpenMedia includes the complete solution for advertisements, the IPA/alfa AdSuite Enterprise suite.

The advertisement system is for ad administration, receipt of orders, invoicing and production of advertisements, which range from simple classified advertisements to more complex designed display ads.

The XML based editorial system IPA/alfa NewsSuite Enterprise will be used in the editorial department. It is an essential module of the integrated media solution that ensures an efficient editorial production.

IPA/alfa ProductionSuite for the planning and production monitoring is also part of the solution.

Furthermore, NewsSuite Enterprise is completely integrated into the Content Management System, IPA/alfa OpenMedia CMS.

alfa e-dition, which provides a 1:1 on-line display of the printed daily newspaper, will also be employed.
